Meet Dr. LoTempio
Dr. LoTempio was born in Buffalo, New York, and attended Georgetown University. After graduation, she worked as a neonatal intensive care nurse, an experience that taught her firsthand the value of establishing and maintaining a rapport with patients. By taking the time to listen and fully discuss the concerns of new mothers, Dr. LoTempio found that she was able to ensure their needs were fully met.
Dr. LoTempio graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine and moved to Los Angeles, California, to complete her training in Head and Neck Surgery at UCLA. Over the next six years, she worked exclusively in head and neck procedures, developing a passion for plastic surgery and its potential to help restore and improve a patient's self-esteem. Much of her head and neck surgeries during this period were reconstructive, helping her develop a deep skill set she would draw on in the years to come.
During her residency at UCLA, Dr. LoTempio became fascinated with microsurgery and its potential uses outside of otolaryngology (ear, nose, and throat applications). She began a plastic surgery residency at the Medical University of South Carolina. There, she had the opportunity to work with Dr. Robert J. Allen, the pioneer of perforator flaps in Breast Reconstruction. Upon her graduation, Dr. LoTempio began a Microsurgical Breast Reconstruction Fellowship with Dr. Allen. In early 2008, she trained in microsurgical lymph node transfer to treat upper and lower extremity lymphedema with Dr. Corrine Becker in Paris, France.
After completing her training with Dr. Becker, Dr. LoTempio opened the LoTempio practice in New York, one that would reflect her experiences. Dr. LoTempio who is double board-certified in plastic surgery and otolaryngology/head and neck surgery performs a full range of procedures for the body and face in addition to performing microsurgical breast reconstruction with lymph node transplantation. Her practice reflects her long-standing commitment to helping improve the physical appearance of various parts of women's bodies and to helping a woman feel happier and more confident with their physical appearance. As Dr. LoTempio’s practice grew, she expanded to performing a number of aesthetic procedures for men.
